It's not really known how many people died under Saddams rule, and no one will honestly admit how many they think/calculate have died as a result of the invasion. In either case the numbers are huge. As Stalin said, "One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic." You can easily make the argument that a million deaths is far worse than half a million, but that doesn't mean that half a million is somehow less significant. Both figures are egregious.

As to your second point, you're probably right, depending on how things eventually turn out. Iraq is currently in flux. The one thing Iraq had going for it under Hussein's rule was that it was a secular state. If it winds up being an islamic theocracy, which is not out of the question, even if the civilian death rate due to murder goes down to nil, we still wouldn't have done the women in that country any favors. The last and final deaths would've been liberty and equality themselves. And those would be the most heinous murders of all.

I say if they want to treat their women as second rate citizens that is their ideology, not ours. I believe they should be allowed to set up their own laws not dictated to them. Now having said i think they are better off without saddam, i just wish we didn't invade to save us all that money. At least the flow of oil is alot cheaper now thanks to the invasion.

The invasion has nothing to do with oil prices. Iraq was not and still is not a supplier of oil to the USA. Oil prices are determined by commodoties speculators, no different than corn or beef or apples or steel.
