    Evidently not. It's a Foxpro database, i'm having problems finding decent tools to clean it up. They've been adding data to it for 10 years now. I'm trying to get them off the piece of shit system they're on and put it in something better.

    It was popular back when DBase was popular. It's was better at handleing larger databases than DBase and you could also do more scripting for reports with it. SQL just blew them out of the water. Now Oracle is the supreme database but there is very little people out there with the knowledge to support it so SQL is the most popular. That'll change before long though.

    It's a boring subject. I've only learned what I know by trial and error. Your responsibilities change often in my line of work. I used to not have to worry about stuff like this - now I do more and more of it.

    to be honest, I'd rather have a floating holiday instead of today. Today would have been a nice easy commute and an easy day at work because enough people would have taken the day off.
