Imagepal is now banned

This isn't something we wanted to do, but there's been too many complaints of late to ignore. The giant pop-up was one issue, but seeing regular members complaining of viruses and others frustrated at thumbs not loading and begging someone else to load the pics with imagevenue, that's not the kind of host we want to see at phun. There's plenty of alternatives that create less of a hassle.

To the 5-6 regulars that have previously used this host, please refrain. We still want your presence at phun and your past contributions are much appreciated, we look forward to many more using a different image-host.

To all members, please let us know when you see imagepal threads from now on, they will be trashed and warnings issued. I'll update the Issues thread and banned image-hosts thread, but want to put this thread as a floater for a few days.

Again, it's a shame this had to happen but hopefully we lose no members over this, but start seeing threads with more compliments and praise, with no frustrating comments from upset members who just want to see the pics and click on them without problems.

 

And a bump, I don't want this to disapear without being seen.

Fine with me. I'm just happy to be privvy to all of the constantly updated images people seem to find. I for one am grateful.

What a nice notice to start the day of work .
as i said before our site is stable and clean of malware or spyware and of
course of viruses.

What users claim is not the real situation we have . Can anyone upload
a pic containing a screenshot of virus warning at our pages?
For me and my team, imagepal.info was a way of living , and get
banned after a lot of work and dedication , always open about user
complains and Advices , we feel very disapointed.
This is a great forum , i believe admins should ask for probes about
virus or other malware at our site, and see who is trying to create a
bad impression of our service. Always in any post or comment in a
ghostly way Jayhoo appears to push our down below. we respect
jahoo and his colaboration to this forum .But we don't believe how
this guy can judge or make pressure to harm us .

Jayhoo has his own server and works the same way we do , posting and trying to earn some money from sponsors, but he doesn't respect people who do the same that he do.

Our server is stable and only has 1 pop up per person per day .

Pop-ups are just plain annoying, and any host that uses them should be banned in my opinion. Posting here or elsewhere to make money off of other people's images isn't right, and is essentially the same as the people that use the pay-back hosts (which are also not allowed), isn't it?

If you want feedback, just don't do the pop-ups ever.

J-Slater I think you are mistaken. There have been numerous complaints from many people not just jayhoo but others who have been well respected members of this board. Jayhoo's imagehost has had it's problems in the past and he works at correcting them when we ask. You have been asked by kieks once before to fix the problems with your site and yet we are still fielding massive amounts of complaints from your hosting site. Therefore it is deemed unsafe and unreliable for this board.

 

If i've seen that its a imagepal picture i don't bother opening it. So thanks.

 

as one of the complainers, i want to say a big thanks. i know these image hosts need to make cash through advertising, but imagepal was just ridiculous.

there have been issues with imagepal for a long time, and i know the mods here wanted to avoid this, but i applaud them for really analyzing the situation and then deciding on a course of action. we have great mods here. thanks guys.

as far as image hosts go, i have to say that if there are good ones that don't have popups like imagevenue, etc then we should just be using those, period.

 

I don't click on anything unless it's from Imageshack, Photobucket or Imagevenue, anyways.

But in all seriousness, I had complained before about images on this host that I was not able to see the images. Then I was told that everybody was seeing them just fine so I just figured it was on my end. So I guess it wasn't just me

I've never used it & never will.

I have also noticed that even "imagevenue" is adding pop-ups when viewing pics. This is not a complaint just my :2cent:.
