They look familiar because "her personal pap" without fail, takes nothing but sloppy shots of her when she's in a bikini in Mexico.

Those paparazzi should get their heads out of their asses and start getting some HD videos and Super Ultra High Quality bikini pics.

Interestingly, the EXIF data on the images in the first post hasn't been stripped. They were taken with a Canon 1DMkIII at a focal length of 700mm. The most likely way to get to 700mm is with a Canon 500mm f/4 IS with a 1.4x teleconverter - lens and camera together are about $10k worth of gear.

700mm focal length on the APS-H size sensor in the 1DMkIII translates to approximately 1.5 degrees vertical field of vision. The vertical resolution of the 1DMkIII is 2592 pixels. Unless I'm badly mistaken, the 3rd picture in the OP is what's call a "100% crop", or actual pixels from the image taken without any resizing. That file is 627 pixels high, or 24% of the height of the picture taken, which comes to 0.36 degrees. Estimating the height of the picture at 5' and using a little trigonometry, we get a photographer who's roughly 800' from Jen. If the third image has been resized to be larger than original, as the fourth clearly has been, then the photographer is even further away.

800' is a really freaking long way away from a person to take a picture of them. Try it yourself if you don't believe me.

The second batch of pictures under the umbrella were taken with a Canon 5DMkII at a focal length of 1120mm, which places that photographer even further away.

All that said, that's some ridiculous camera shake-induced blur in that shot. Dude needs to use a monopod instead of trying to handhold that giant-ass telephoto lens.

 

btw it's entirely likely I fucked up the math somewhere along the way there.... general point stands, though. The pictures are crap cuz the pap can't get close enough, not because they're using lousy cameras.

 

Thanks for the input/lesson gronsak. You appear to be quite knowledgeable with all things photographic. Look at any of the Mexican bikini/vacation threads of her here. We get ultra clarity on all the other hens in their bikini snaps, but everything Jen is grainy, and shait. Conspiracy?

Just pisses me off. I love this woman, and could take a better picture of her in Mexico from here in Maine ffs.

 

i have to say two things and one question to ask,
first, im very impressed with the information you have provided, the fact that you can ascertain this sort of evidence from a single picture is very difficult for me to believe, but knowing what i do about photography, im convinced

second, if these photos were taken from that far away, well then im not at all upset that she looks like my mother in law in them, and will now proper.

And the question, i just purchased a new Polaroid One600 instant camera from Kmart, the door on the front, you know the one you open to shove the film in, seems to have been opened and my toddler has stuffed an entire peanut butter and jam sandwich in were the film cartage goes. Do you have any good cleaning tips for me as i just found out where Mila Kunis actually does live and there is a tree about 600 yards away i hope to stalk her from..

Well, the entire calculation hangs on the assumption that that third pic has been cropped but not resized. If it's been resized, then my calculation is off by however much it's been resized.

As for your second issue, I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. What's film? I'd try 100% isopropyl alcohol & q-tips, but it's quite possibly a lost cause.

All that expensive gear to get shots worse than a cheap camera phone - I appreciate the efforts, but there's just not much to see. He'd have been better off bribing the staff at the resort to get him closer or have them take some pics for him.

+2 on wanting better Jen bikini pics!! I'm still hoping those topless shots of her sunbathing from a couple years ago where the guy got in trouble surface one of these days.
